Happy New Year!
Everyone hear at Kiwi Writers HQ wishes you a very Happy New Year and a magical 2008.
The turn of the new year is a time for reflection, a time for celebration and a time for dreaming. The idea of Kiwi Writers was born and growing into something with a whole lot of potential at this time last year. We launched 11 months ago and my, how those months have flown. From a small group of Kiwi NaNo-ers to hundreds of writers from all around the world we’ve all begun to know each other through the forums and the challenges.
Pop those poppers, throw those streamers and blow your horn. It was a great year of writing, of editing, of finishing and now we have the chance to do it all over again… only better. Let’s learn and improve together, having a whole bunch of fun along the way.
To start we have the New Year Novella challenge to get us all started. Write something, write anything, write 20,000 words in 31 days and start the year with a bang! We’ll be celebrating Kiwi Writers 1st birthday in February. More features around the site will be coming on board including more interviews, klog posts and something with calendars.
New Years resolutions come hand in hand with the beginning of the new year. We look out at the twelve months ahead of us and we dream. The time, the opportunities, the chances we are given to do magical things is there for the taking. What magic will you make in 2008? Write it down and then takes steps to make it happen. How will you know when you’ve reached your goal? What do you have to do to get there? Give yourself deadlines, create member challenges for motivation and company along the road and make those dreams a reality.
