Day Two saw a great increase in word count for everyone. How is day three going?

Taking a break at the moment, but have been writing mostly steady since after supper. I'm at 3588 and counting. Man... it is a LOT harder than Nano.

I'm finding it tough going, but I know I'll make it. With Nano, there was always so much more time! :)

I just did another word check, and I'm at 4446 words. I will write for at least another hour or two, but not before a little more procrastination on here.

There is a reason this wwwW is so much tougher than Nanowrimo. I'm making it hard on myself, that's for sure.

There are a couple of poor tactical decisions that I made that mean it's more work:

1. I'm writing in 3rd person. On Nano, I wrote 1st person, which is just like writing email and I do that ever day.

2. I'm writing in present tense, and wrote in mostly past tense with Nano. Every time I notice that I've switched to past tense, I go back and fix it. It's usually only a few sentences, but it slows me down! I am getting better, and like the present tense when I read it over.

I think I'll go post about this in another forum. :)

2596. *headdesk* I dunno if I'll make it to 7500 tomorrow, but I'll try. I do have a few distractions though, like online puzzles and life in general. ^_^;;

Didn't do as well today as I'd have liked. I am now up to 3909, which leaves me with a big day tomorrow.

Of course, that would be fine if I didn't have to work. Maybe I'll leave a little early :-)

Good luck to everyone for the final push.

2517. *also headdesks*

Not only that, the last 312 words were for a NEW beginning-of-a-story, because I didn't like how my first attempt started. And now that I think about it, I don't like the second attempt either...

In between getting ready (esp. mentally!) for school tomorrow, piano lesson, as well as some other work/study >_<..... oh dear....

Off to go think about my plot (and why it's been a problem just starting) as I go to sleep...

Had a good day as far as word count and finally gave up at 5284. That means about 2700 words today. I can't complain, but for someone who was talking about doing all of this entire challenge in 1 day, I'm eating humble pie.

6005 and ready to put it into fifth gear.
I will make it by tonight unless something happens to me that appears to be happening to my main character.
Damn - I am going to have to save her.
And find out my daughters school uniform for tomorrow.
Have a great day today

And I saved my character.
Oh I am sooooo happy. Now I can play netball tonight with a clear conscience.
I will post the story on my website as a pdf tonight after I go through it to correct spelling mistakes that the spell checker doesnt find.

Thanks,
I was lucky - no visitors and I have a very fast typing speed. I also have a laptop and could do a bit of work this morning before everyone else got up. There is NOOOOOOOOOO WAY I could handle not having access to a computer. <shivers>
Keep going and see what you can do, even if you are a couple of days late, it is the writing that counts, the story, not when it is finished.

Congrats madscientist! Very nicely done and I think the first across the line.

Now, there's the snippets of the story that appear on the review forums right? ;-)

Ooops - I see you are posting on your site... cool. I think reading stories over is going to be my job for the next week or so. I really look forward to it.
