Rather odd to ask this 1 hour before wwwW starts, I know, but I'm curious: what type of writing are you doing (novel, short story, etc) and how much planning have you done for wwwW? Zero planning or complete outline?

I started off planning for a short story, but now I think I'll use this writing frenzy to jumpstart a new novel. :) I've got a fairly good idea, a VERY vague plot, and I'm not really sure who my characters are yet, but... I'm sure something will come up :)

Funny, I was just thinking how little outlining I was doing. I kept thinking that I should do some and here it is, almost an hour past midnight, and I've still only got outline in my head.

To be fair to myself, I promised to use Lester Dent's "Master Plot", which I found on the internet. I thought that it worked for him through the 30's to the 50's, so what could it hurt? AND, it was hilarious to boot.

Still, I just completely changed my setting in the last 20 minutes. I don't know where this is going or where it will end. I'm pretty sure the main character doesn't know who he is yet, but even then, I'm not sure...

Writing will be fun.

The "Master Plot" is for writing a 6000 word short story, in four, 1500 word sections. So, to do 7500 words, I need four, 1875 word sections, other than that, it's exactly the same.

I WANT it to be very action oriented, with lots of fighting, but whenever I write, I tend not to do that...

I'll see you in 7500 words! :)

I'm planning on using a story idea I had for my advanced fiction paper last year which i never wrote. The idea has just been floating around without much thought being given to it but I thought that now was a good time to get it out of my head and into the world! That is after the wedding stuff is out of the way tho....

Up until now, I haven actually thought much about it. To be honest, I'm still in two minds as to whether to carry on and finish my NaNo novel, or to do a short story.

The former sounds goods to get it out of the way (but I'd have to re-read it to remember where I was) but the latter sounds good since I've never done a short story before.

I am leaning towards the short story - in which case to answer your question, I have no planning whatsoever. :-)

I did have a plan. It was to finish my novel, but it's done. I think I will keep writing and doing wwwW but I think I will use writing prompts and just go crazy. So it won't be anything cohesive but it might lend to some new ideas.
