Ive done one thing- getting someone to read my story. Plus two others did as well and now I have to be brave and send it off to a magazine *sniffles* my baby.

Also I have looked at my fanfics and plotted the next two chapters just need to write em up.

I was asked by cassie where I am going to submit, or would that to whom am I going to submit. Oh wait thats a different forum altogether.LOL

Ok My short list of magazines are:
-Abyss&Apex.
-Fantasy and Science Fiction (my top pick)
-Aoife's Kiss
-Andromeda Spaceways (this place gives Aussie and Kiwi writers preference over everyone else)
-Leading Edge.

Fantasy and Science Fiction magazine will be my first sub place as they are looking for humour and SciFi and my is a humorous Scifi story.

Soon as I add in the extra comma's and fix one spelling mistake (thats a total first for me..usually their are heaps!).
I will be sending it off via snail mail.
Just have to make sure the settings are by the guidelines.

Very exciting!
When submitting short stories do you still send queries? or just a quick note?

fanfics are going to be written tonight as my nerves are playing up. I send off the manuscript today so the ass monkeys are running through my head trying to get me cave in and not send the thing..LOL
Fanfics are something I usually write to relax and destress which is what I realllly need at the moment.
BUT I will send the manuscript, I will, really or someone can beat me with a frozen rabbit leg or something equally odd.

You can do it xengab! Thanks for the list of places. It's always interesting to know what's out there.

What a time I had sending that manuscript.
At work we have a postage meter and well it wasnt working for some reason so I had to go out and see if I could get stamps.
I go and well my card is declined due to no money, hubby HAD to just pay the bills that day didnt he!.
So I do a big ask at work, all I got was two old stamps, and a 1c stamp. So it could get their but nada on response.
At that point I figured it was a sign that well not to send it.
Rather then give in to the evil doubt monkeys in my head I went shopping today and bought stamps while at the supermarket, then put them on the envelopes and by sheer luck, handed it to the postman (Lady) who was collecting the mail!
SO its gone, no longer in my hands. Cant get it back either an well GOOD!
So I did the one thing my hubby AND coworkers have been asking me to do, submit my weird and wacky stories!
All I can say is god help everyone..LOL

I swear if I hadnt done this End is Night challenge I would never have sent it!

Great work xengab. And that's exactly what this challenge is for. I think this challenge is going to be a great one :-) Let's hope some success stories come out from it - so Good Luck.

Downloaded ySonar to track where I am sending my manuscript.
And yeah my hubby is so proud of me *grins*, finally did what I said I would.
I have also written half a chapter for my fanfic.
Come up with three new story plots that could be done zing thing style or 50k.
And I am going to use the tip I saw another kiwi member use, go through my SoCNoC story and mark where things need to be changed.

Plus I am going on another writers group crawl to spread the word.
YAY!

End is Nigh

Holy guts, Xengab!!

Great work. It's SO torturous sending anything off, you've done very well to get past those insiduous doubt monkeys. (They sound very similar to my shoulder angel / devil. Hm.)

Sounds as if you're on a creative streak! Make the most of it. I'm sending you my good-wish vibes, but you probably won't need them!

Awesome progress!

I am guessing that my sub should have arrived at its destination today.
Two months avergage waiting time..
And I also got another chapter of a fanfic posted with its co-author, I merely edited it this round.

Tried doing editing at work, its not going to work much since they are still building the library next door, too many bangs, bumps and annoying smells distract me. Im heading down to the beach today during lunchtime to get away from the constant pounding from outside.. No clue why they need to pound when they are laying a concret path!
Tonight I will be doing some editing since nothing I usually watch is on TV.
MMMM Criss Angels Mindfreak is a great show so watch it..LOL
