I really want to finish my untitled SoCNoC 2007 novel, which is currently sitting at 58,507 words. I'm guessing I need to reach 100,000 words before it's finished. That works out to about 1,350 words a day.

I also want to stop calling it the 'untitled SoCNoC 2007 novel'. So I want a title!

Oh I don't know 'Untitled SoCNoc 2007" has quite a ring to it.
I have done nilch today. It was like a spring day, no chilly wind, lovely warm sunshine, so had lunch with a friend, and lazed in the sun. As have been housebound for weeks!!
Did get my husband to read the soCNoc story, and get feedback, he was intrigued with all its twists and turns. So have spent some time yesterday, printing out the first draft.

You can feel editing in the air?

Weird. But kinda cool. Like a writer's 6th sense.

Lol! And an update from me...

I wrote 700 words on Thursday, nothing yesterday and nothing so far today. Oops.

I'm going on holiday for two weeks (cruising the south pacific) on Tuesday but have Monday off work. I'm hoping to make more of a dent by the time I leave.

We're taking the laptop with us so we can download photos and I can write.

Good idea Kerryn, then you can both take lots of photos and you can write. Hope you have a great time and remember to update your signature for us before you go :-)

Hey - 700 words cannot be sneered at! In my head, I'd round that up to a thousand - still progress!

And sometimes I think those little bits are the best, because they give me motivation to finish a scene off, and then the next pops into my head. (I'm told it's called flow. At the moment my inspiration's more like an insipid puddle.)

And we'll miss you around the old place. Have great fun cruising, I'm envious!

Oh yea, my signature! lol.

I wrote 800 words last night to reach 60,000! Woo hoo for the milestone. I'm hoping to write a couple thousand today once I get the chores done. :)

Still no title Kerryn? Maybe you could tell us what your novel is about, and we could have a challenge for coming up with the best title for you? :)

Hi Kerryn, know you have been peeking in on the site. How is the holiday going? Lucky girl, back to winter snow showers here again.
Are you getting any work done? :)

Hi! Hi gaye! Thanks for checking in on me. :) I wrote 1500 words on holiday and after four days back in the real world catching up on work, house and the web world I'm feeling the pull of my story again. I'd hit a bit of a road block with a lack of character motivation but I have a few more scene ideas now. I'm out tomorrow night with work and angellic's birthday party on Friday night. Maybe the weekend will be promising. I could even write at my new dining table, which is being delivered on Saturday. :)

I'll post a quick summary of my story soon... when my head isn't so sleepy.

I'm a winner!! I have a title for my novel, thanks to Phillipa Ballantine's latest Whispers at the Edge podcast.

My SoCNoC novel is titled: Seeking Queen Praedar.

I haven't made any more progress on the actual novel. My characters have lost motivation. I'm part way through a brief look over what I've got to discover all the characters, setting and plot twists and turns that are hidden there.

So kerryn you have finished something according to the challenge stats. You actually have completed two, by finally finding a title for your SocNoc novel, sounds good too. :)

Thanks! The novel title is actually the one thing I've completed. But it is something I wouldn't have done otherwise!

Well done Kerryn.

I enjoyed reading your blog post about how you came up with the title. I think it's interesting so I'll post a link for others to read : Title Me!
