There's nothing like a great new fun thing appearing, catching that whimsy where you think it sounds like a great idea and then suddenly... it's about to happen.

So how are you feeling with less than a week to go before we are attempting to reach The End?

I'm comfortably in denial.

Heh, I changed it for you :-)

In a lot of ways, I'm looking forward to doing "The End is Nigh" (Tein?) - it'll force me to get writing again, which is exactly what's it's designed to do.

The other thing is, I'm looking forward to logging onto KiwiWriters chatroom and seeing a few friendly faces around the place.

Both scared and excited at the same time. The idea of August coming really soon is hardly hitting me at the moment, but I know it shall be painful when it does- my choir comp finale at Christchurch (=lot of rehearsals), my piano exam, and possibly a very important maths internal, are all in August.... but it'll be fun, and I know I'll be comforted during late nights by wonderful support here. ^_^

Oh god... it's THAT close.
This year is moving too fast, can someone slow it down for me please??
I think I had better pull out the story I'm aiming at finishing and making some notes on it before then.

Excited. I mean, it's August. In that month, I'll be doing AugNoWriMo, The End is Nigh, making the tennis team, and going into my first few days of high school. So yeah... four / five days now.

Wow, spartan. Where are you doing AugNoWriMo? Is there a site for it?

The AugNoWriMo is the same as I did this month Kerryn, called the JulNoWriMo. I found it on the resource section in this site. It is American based, with UK, Australian, a couple of Kiwis, and others, are members.

Do they run one for every month of the year?
I'm still stunned that it's almost August. I think I'll get through the Zing Thing and then reassess my goals for the month.

I know that there is almost a NaNoWriMo spin off for each month but not sure if they're all 50K word count goal.

I think in a few of them, you set your own goal. Certainly the spin-offs seem to be less strict that you have to start from scratch and be 50,000. Others let you do what you want (like our SoCNoC) and others still let you choose your own word count.

There is also a blogging month, a music writing month, a painting-a-day month and probably many others.

It's fascinating how many things have come out of NaNoWriMo - including us! Happy happy joy joy.

Oo, I should put up a link to a resource page that Kerryn has created: Writing Challenges.
