Okay, it's all about my WIP Freeing the Flame that is in its second draft.
And here we go... 1. Revise story summaries and characters arcs 2. Work through Lynn Veihl's Novel Notebook. 3. Develop new romantic subplot for Brigid, my MC. 4. Develop setting of Retehoro and its inhabitants. 5. Write in changes to scenes summaries to incorporate romantic subplot and developed setting. 31 Jul 2008 20:42:21

This weekend is my mum's birthday and we are spending the weekend over at her place for various surprise activities. :) Tonight I'm baking cakes for the occasion so I'll be grabbing snippets of time to begin on my first End is Nigh challenge.

Develop new romantic subplot for Brigid, my MC. - Developing while doing #2. 4. Develop setting of Retehoro and its inhabitants. - Developing while doing #2. 5. Write in changes to scenes summaries to incorporate romantic subplot and developed setting. - Haven't started and it's not looking too hopeful for this month. Okay, the Novel Notebook is kind of in two parts. The first (which I have now completed) is about developing characters, setting and time period. The second is about developing plot, sub-plots, weaving elements and conflict.
By doing the first half I've developed the setting of Retehoro and its inhabitants (my number 4!) and by doing the second half i should have Brigid's new romance developed (number 3). So, I should have four things finished for this End is Nigh. Ooh, that's exciting to know! I only realised I'd finished anothing thing while I wrote this post. lol. :) 23 Aug 2008 22:32:30

I'm half way through developing plot and it is showing me where I could escalate the conflict. That's something I'll have to weave into the scene outline next. :)
I'm feeling good about it! 27 Aug 2008 22:06:17

Done, done... done. Done. Done. And I got something quite unexpected at the end that will make the story a whole lot better.
He's my round up: 1. Revise story summaries and characters arcs. - Done. 2. Work through Lynn Veihl's Novel Notebook. - Done. 3. Develop new romantic subplot for Brigid, my MC. - Done. 4. Develop setting of Retehoro and its inhabitants. - Done. 5. Write in changes to scenes summaries to incorporate romantic subplot and developed setting. - Nope. This one was a little bit hopeful in any case but will make a very good goal for September. Having done the other four things I have a better idea of how big this will be too. 29 Aug 2008 23:08:04
