Seconding Cassie's determination to kick start the progress threads... here's mine.
August Goals: Primary Goal: Complete The Elemental Chronicles: Water Secondary Goals: - Begin planning for Air - Write a third short story - Attempt to edit one of my existing short stories - Post daily in my writing blog Currently, I'm at 15k of Water. I hope it's going to be around 80k, so I'll have about 60k (give or take) to write during August. 30 Jul 2008 19:34:10 |

Oh, thanks, fisherbabe. :)
Okay, so today the first writing thing I did was to update my timeline. I ended up filling in some spaces and cropping off a whole week that wasn't needed. Then I added 2.5k to my story, bringing me to a total of 22,855 words. Finally, I posted in my blog. I'm happy with today's progress. 02 Aug 2008 18:23:47 |

Day Two
Today, I reached 25k. I wrote 2.4k on my novel and managed to plan out the next several chapters with Cassie's help. I also updated my timeline, and it's now halfway filled out. 03 Aug 2008 20:12:19 |

That's great progress. It's always nice to know where you're going, even if you go off the track a little on the way there. :)

Thanks, Cassie and Kerryn. :)
Day Three Today was a successful day. I wrote 2.4k on my novel, bringing me up to 27.6k total. I also wrote a short story that was 2.4k in length, titled Lying With Perfection. It wasn't the short story I'd intended to write for the month, but I still like it a lot, so I counted it. I've now "officially won" by the site's standards, but not by my own. 04 Aug 2008 20:20:41 |

You may only have done one of the things, but you're well on track for getting the rest of it done as well :-)
Go Chibi! 05 Aug 2008 07:44:39 |

Yes, I'm on track, Cassie. ;) Aww, don't feel intimidated by me, Ptero! Everyone goes at their own pace.
Day Four I am now up to 30k (on the dot) on my novel, which means I've written 10k since the beginning of the challenge. I'm 38% of the way there and feeling good about it. I've been keeping up with my blog and with the thread so far, too. I also spent part of the evening helping a friend plan, which while not part of the challenge, was still nice. 05 Aug 2008 19:22:02 |

Well done, Chibi! I've completed one of my things, which means I've won too but the point is to be able to set our own goals.
Keep at it and take the win as one of many to come. :) 05 Aug 2008 21:37:41

Thanks Cass, I am, now if I could only remember to update my signature every night!
Go you, Kerryn, that's really awesome. :) Day Five I had a very productive day. I was able to write a total of 5.1k today, which brings me up to exactly 35,140 words (or 44%). I've also gotten to the halfway mark on chapter eight. I also updated my blog and obviously, the thread as well (plus my signature). 06 Aug 2008 19:18:59 |

Haha, yes, I would have felt silly if I forgot it after posting that!
Day Six I wrote 1.1k on my story today, but I know I can make up the difference tomorrow, so I'm not worried. I'm at 36,293 words so far. I also wrote a chapter for a fanfiction today, which was 3.4k in length. So I feel like I still got a lot of writing accomplished, even if it wasn't all on my WIP. Also, did my blog/thread/signature as well. ;) 07 Aug 2008 19:28:35 |

Day Seven
I wrote a total of 6.2k today. I finished up the scene from last night, and then wrote two more scenes tonight. I just seemed to have a bit more in me today. That brings me up to 42,537 words total, which means I'm now over the halfway mark. I also updaded my blog, thread, and signature. 08 Aug 2008 20:11:38 |

Thanks, fisherbabe!
Day Eight I'm up to 43,212 words today after writing a grand total of 750 words. I realized I'd made an annoying mistake I had to go back and fix, and after I'd done that, I had too much of a headache to keep going. However, did my blog (even though I didn't want to), thread, and signature. 09 Aug 2008 16:53:08 |
