For those who want a laugh, a good weep, or just to harden their skins, here is a link to some rejection letters we can all learn from.

*shrugs* You know, most of the rejection letters there that people are whining about are pretty standard, and politely written. I had to dig pretty deep to find anything that I'd take offense at (apart from horrendous spelling, that is).

True, though there are some that are pretty funny. I too noticed the spelling and grammar errors; publishers huh?

I have to say, the rejections I've had have been unfailingly polite. Some of them were quite lovely, in fact.
That said, I've heard a few horror stories from the States. I think the worst thing that's happened to me was a very early rejection - and the letter wasn't signed. It wasn't a form letter, though, which actually cheered me up a bit!

*puts on my angry face* Grrr... but, really, I have to admit that receiving my first few submissions did give me something of a rush of potential megalomania. People are sending their words to me! Their fate rests in my hands! Ahahaha!

Ah, you're a publisher alright! All the best though, it's a tough road and it takes a lot of nerve to start any venture and pump it through the roof.

Ooh yes. I'm roping in a couple of friends to help me with the financing and advertising side of things, so hopefully that will spread the load a bit, but I'm fully aware of how much of my time and energy this is going to take up.

It's either going to be awesome or it's going to royally piss me off. Or both. Either way, hey, learning experience, right? Fun times.

And there's nothing like the start of a new adventure. I love it too. This whole year and been a voyage of discovery for me. I'm not sure I want it to end.
