When I was younger, I really liked Queen. I had all the tapes which of course got battered, bruised and then became relics of the past. However, I decided recently to buy all their albums on CD.

I now have 6 albums + the first two Greatest Hits. I'm pretty much listening to all of them in rotation (though sometimes when I'm typing I realise it's silent and the last song must have finished ages ago).

So what are you listening to while writing, or between writing sessions?

Right this minute I'm listening to Incubus's Light Grenades - I don't know the lyrics, which is always important if I want to get something done. If i know the words, i inevitably end up singing along rather than getting anything done (note the hour(atleast) that I spent singing puscifer songs this afternoon and not getting anything else done).
I often opt for soundtracks, I liked the requiem for a dream soundtrack, that was quite a good one for writing my nano to.
I'll have to come up with some new stuff for this novel though, as its a bit different from the last. Within the week I'll know the lyrics for these songs and will want to sing along...
ya know, if I don't end up getting published maybe I'll try my luck as a rock star ;-) lol

I've been listening to some random Bell & Sebastian stuff. I haven't in the past day though because I can't find my headphones. :X

nothing at all the last couple of days, before that, it was a random mix of stuff on my mp3 player, which I regularly get annoyed with and skip songs on... I would probably type faster if I didn't have songs on there I didn't want to listen to. :) It was a random dump of a bunch of stuff on my hard drive... I have to clean it up sometime.

Evanescence is the perfect background music for my novel. So Open Door and Fallen Album are on constant repeat.
Helps to tune out the world.

I an currently listening to Vanessa Hudgens (of the High School Musical fame). I like listening to fluffy poppy stuff. Completely out of context with my book, but it keeps me on track.

My iPod and computer have different playlists at the moment, because inevitably the song I want to listen to on my iPod is on the computer, and vice versa. Stupid broken computer.

Muse and Gothic Rock...The more headbanging the better.
I also have some Evanescence, pretty bad when I sing along. The more typing I do the less singing and the less complaints I receive.

I'm listening to Killing Heidi and The Dandy Warhols with a random assortment of other music thrown in for good measure. There could be some Queen thrown in there. :)

I have half-hearted attempts to put on anime soundtracks -sometimes I leave them on and listen to them, a lot of the time I just turn it off because I can't hear myself writing and I can't concentrate. So... yeah. I generally prefer silence. ^_^

I'm tempted to find pirate shanties...but I don't think I could stand listening to them all month! I have Cassie's problem too - if I know the lyrics, I end up listening to them or singing them and not getting anything done.

So for that reason I'll probably mostly listen to Apocalypica - no lyrics!

Try "Great Big Sea" - they are fairly piraty (word?) music - unlikely that you'd know the lyrics. They are from my parts and worth listening to.

I seem to get stuck on one soundtrack every time I do a dash to 50k. Last NaNoWriMo the only thing I could write to was the soundtrack from the first season of Battle Star Galactica. I was so tiered of that CD by the time I was done :P
This time around it seems to be Pillar's new CD "The Reckoning." Good beat to keep me moving.
