This challenge is a lot of fun for me. The words just fall onto the (computer) page. I'm finding places to add interesting little bits, too, to give scenes more entertainment value (I hope).

And once again, I didn't actually intend to get going writing so early. I have another couple of projects to work on. But it was just so easy to look at my plot outline and pick up the thread of the tale.

And I admit that I enjoy seeing my numbers go up, too. I guess all those years of striving (or not) for good grades in school have left a lifelong mark. I want to excel at this.

I hope the rest of you are having as much fun and feeling the same sense of satisfaction.

I love hearing this! It is an amazing amount of fun and part of that, I think, is being surprised by what you can actually achieve.

Woo hoo!

It is fun. Like you Lily, I just sit and type away, sometimes seems like dribble at this stage of the proceedings, but know things are going to get tricky and involving, midway through. Little twists and turns come to you as you proceed. :)

Yep, me too! This is fun! Even though my progress is much slower than any of yours, I am just happy that the words are flowing again. That was more my goal then the word count, though I love seeing it go up! I gotta admit that like you, hopefullily, I don't want to see my name at the bottom of the list! :)
With that said, I just love knowing other people are doing this challenge too, because whatever our own progress is we can all encourage each other and celebrate the fact that we are writing!

Happy writing!

Didn't get much done today. I did a lot of writing on other projects and couldn't even start work on my novel until late at night. But I was happy to find that I was able to take it up without any problem despite it being so late.

I'm discovering that after I write a long scene I need to let it rest for a while before taking up the next one. So today's achievement was to fiddle with the end of the last scene I'd done the day before, and then add one scene each from two different characters' perspectives. But then it felt like time to stop for a while. And since it is nearly 1 AM here at the moment, that means today is my first day of not hitting my personal goal of 3,333 words per day. Couldn't be helped, though.

Ok, so I just noticed my sig. Aaagh!

I tried to get the widget to work and obviously it didn't. I read all the how to threads and no go. Can one of you wonderful people help me?

Lady P, your sig has 2007 in it, not 2008. Might that be part of the problem?

Eehh, could be! I'm so computer illiterate! :)
I'll have to try it out later (I'm off for date night with hubby!)
Thanks for the tip, Lily.

I don't know if I'm done writing for the day, but I'm taking a break. I'm still 248 words below my daily goal, and I haven't made up anything from yesterday's shortfall, either. But I ended a scene, and it's time to do something else for a while.

ladypamela: you'll need to put the URL of the image between tags and make sure that you edit 2007 to say 2008. The full URL can be found in the How Do I? forum.

Chugging along. About three hours of writing has netted over 2300 words. Not bad.

I'm stopping for a while to switch gears and tinker with another writing project. It's 94 degrees outside, humid as hell, and there's no reason to do anything but live a life of the mind.

94 degrees wow, it's about 4 degrees C here! Though cold snow hail showers yesterday, it's a little more comfortable today. :)

Still having a ball, but I'm noticing that the scenes I'm writing now are more important and require additional thought as they are being written. It's not enough to just transfer an idea from the plot outline any old way. It requires finesse.

Something I am sadly lacking in at nearly 1AM my time, so I will sign off at 21,942. A good day's work, and hopes of doing more tomorrow. It's still going to be beastly hot. Well, as they say, it's not the heat; it's the humidity.

well done lily, I had great intentions today, and was busily getting more done on my story, then I decided to wash my hair, while the fire was going. Then visitors turned up. Didn't even offer or make them a cup of tea/coffee, in the hope they wouldn't stay too long. :)
It seems they stayed on waiting for the hospitality I didn't give. A couple of hours later, and lost my verve. But need more research now on UK Fashion Designers.

I'm doing really well, too.
Surprisingly. :)
Usually the second I start a challenge, I end up drying up and get a brain freeze. But not this time.
There is still 1hr 20 mins left till midnight, and I've got 5.3k written today.
However, I'm digging into the vino (Kiwi, btw! Montana Sauvignon Blanc) so it's not good if I carry on now, because it'll be total gibberish!

I was surprised that I didn't have a lot of trouble writing a key scene tonight.

Unfortunately, now I'm just poohed out and can't continue. So my total for today is low. When I started this morning, I was thinking that possibly I could equal silke's total, which would bring me even with my original goal of 3333 words per day. But my ambitions lay elsewhere today. I did other writing that needed my attention.

I think at this stage there is a little burn out, then when you get to the interesting stuff, conflict and so on, you feel more energised. I am tired of all my infernal chit chat in the story, but it is to bring the various characters together in the end.
Sore back *^%#@(*&^ groan.

Yes, I've been trying to decide if I had too much chitchat. But since my novel is women's fiction, I think I'm supposed to have lots of that. Additionally, there's supposed to be a good deal of ruminating. I think I probably need to put in more than I have. I can remember reading novels in which characters went on and on for pages, wondering about the motivations of other people, or wondering how they felt about something. Usually while walking along a sand dune or something.
