Yeah Gidday

I am just an old rough country boy who failed my 4th. form English ezams but over 50 years later am wanting to write.

I have started some ramblings and another thing that it would be good if it turned into a book or film.

'lo Jack, I'm not going to say Hi-Jack this time. :) Good to see you aboard.
I can relate to the fourth form stuff and many years later beginning to write.

You never know you may be another Barry Crump in the making. You sound like a good Keen Man.
How far have you got with your manuscript?

Well I only have about a dozen short stories of about 1000 words each. At least my stories are either true or at least new and not like Crump's as I had heard all of his before he published by working in shearing gangs and drinking in pubs so all he did was just edit his stories.

I am sure you have a lot more stories to tell, Jack. It's great to get them down and share them with others.
Have you lived and worked in the bush, or where are they stemmed from?

Not much in the bush, but started in shearing gangs after leaving school at 15. Been farming, on a bunny board, on a tussock board in charge of migrant workers, 11 years in the Police and even had a month on the wharf.

I often say I have the Q.B.E. qualified by experience.

Cheers

Its experience like that for great material for stories. When you are 'old diggers' like us there is a lot to tell.
Farming is, or was a hard life.
I often laugh at the young sheep farmer across the road attending his flock in a covered motor bike (to keep the rain off) and includes a 'guetto blaster' spilling out pop music for everyone in the district to hear. :)

Oh my gosh! That definitely tells a lot about the farmer. :)
