Western Districts Short Story Competition

This is the 21st Celebration year of this competition and is open to any New Zealand writer.

Entries will be accepted from June to 20th August 2008, and a prize giving will be held on the 1st October 2008.

Each story must be no longer than 2000 words, and the original, and unpreviously published work of the entrant.

For those that don't like reading the fine print, it's worth noting that you can't enter the same story into both WDSSC and the Katherine Mansfield.

Got my entry back yesterday. Although I didn't place in the competition I got some great comments from the judge so I'm happy...all very encouraging :)

If you send a self addressed envelope with your entry they always send back the judges comments.

I've had comments back both years I have entered and I can see this years is much better than last years so I know I'm going in the right direction :)
