Have you felt felt jealous of those people who can boast they've written a large amount of words in one day? Look no further to be able to join in with those bragging rights! With the 6k In One Day For SoCNoC Challenge, you'll cause your word count to bounce up and allow yourself the pleasure and smugness of knowing you did six thousand words in one day. Accept the challenge here. Remember, compared to 50k in one month, 6k in one day is nothing! So why not at least give it a try?

Awesome, sailorchibi! I once wrote 6,000 words in one day for one of our short story challenges.
Not only will you make your word count jump you could make up enough words to take a day, or two, break. In No Plot? No Problem! Chris Baty describes how you can have a 6,000 word day. Basically it's all about know how long it takes for you to comfortably write 500 or 1000 words. You do it in bursts. Write 500 words, take a half hour break away from your computer or notebook to specifically do something else, write another 500 words, go and have breakfast. Repeat, repeat, repeat, etc. 07 Jun 2008 23:19:29

That, too. It's great knowing you have a little bit of a buffer for those days when you're just too busy. That's why I've always thought that the first weekend is like... THE most important weekend time.
I WANT MY COPY OF THAT BOOK. I ordered it last week and it STILL hasn't come. ;_; 08 Jun 2008 01:33:09 |

YUS! Fantastic idea. I SO need a 6k day. Maybe I should plan it for next weekend. Maybe 2x6k days, to get me back on track.
Hmm. I'm so far behind the track, I can't actually see them anymore. Ah well, here goes nuthin'... 08 Jun 2008 22:22:51

I have the day off work today, so I'm going to have a go at this. I don't have high hopes, but it's worth a try.
