The rules of the challenge are simple. In just one weekend you have to write a 2,000 word story. Sounds easy you say? But what if you have to edit it in that time too. A little harder perhaps.

Well, let's throw in a little more.

Each and every 'Zing Thing' is going to have a theme which will make it a little harder. A-ha, now that sounds more like it!

However, don't fret since we won't make the theme too difficult, just enough to push you out of your comfort zone and into an area you've never been before. We want you write something to sample the high life, the low life, a different life perhaps but more importantly whatever makes you push yourself in directions you never thought possible.

This month's theme

This month's theme is to write a story in a setting or location you have never written before. This could mean your usually contemporary stories become historical or futuristic. It could mean your beach front romances are suddenly transported to the Brazilian rainforest or Sahara desert.
