T-8 Days and Counting!

Hello Kiwi Writer,

It's just one week until the writing begins. Are you ready? We've got 25 participants signed up for SoCNoC and 7 for HalfNoC so there's plenty of encouragement and fun to be had for all. But, as always, the more the merrier so if you haven't yet please help us spread the word and show off your support with 2010 participant icons.

The preparation challenges are a great way to start exploring and developing ideas. Wrapping up this week is the Finding Your Senses challenge that explores the sense of time, the unknown and space in your novel. This will be a great one to revisit throughout June and keep up the discussion as the senses develop. To wrap up our preparation challenges is the Road Signs challenge to help you pave the major twists and turns on your yellow brick road to 'The End'. Build yourself some landmarks and find yourself dancing through the 10,000 word milestones.

We've got many ways for you to keep up with all the SoCNoC activity including word wars on Twitter, participants progress on their blogs and Facebook updates. Make sure you follow us, fan us and connect yourself into all the encouraging, inspiring and, ahem, procrastinating tools you'll need to get yourself through June and out the other side.

There'll be lots of great tips and encouraging words on the Kiwi Writers blog through June and we've got some guest bloggers from those who know best, our very own SoCNoC participants as well as more from the SoCNoC Secrets series. Check it out today and read about how you can create Big Ideas. It's all about asking questions, the why, where, who, what, how questions. Don't take the easy answers either, challenge yourself, hold yourself to the same standards you are your characters and watch your ideas grow into the living story just waiting for you to pour it onto the page.
