Shimmer of Bling
Hello Kiwi Writers,
Just as the subject line suggests we have some flashy participant icons up in vibrant orange and calming blue for both SoCNoC and HalfNoc participants. A huge thank you goes out to ChibiDoucet for designing for us. We've also go the winners icons all done and ready to reveal on the 23rd June for all you early finishers. Please help us spread the word of Kiwi Writers and novelling season by posting them up all around the web.
Our preparation challenges are in full swing and if you're struggling to develop your characters why not visit the Speed Dating thread and put your characters through a round or two. The challenge has officially closed but there are still some great questions there. Where is your favourite place to hide out? If you were a fish, what kind of fish would you be? What is your theme song?
It's a Treasure Hunt this week in preparation where we send you into the research books and to googling and trawling wikipedia to find the five key bits of research that will be critical to your story. Share your treasures in the forums and learn a little about Greece and other treasures while you visit. Next week we'll be back on character and asking you to describe your characters from the perspective of others in From the Outside, Looking In.
Our blog posts on preparation have begun with KarenJM sharing how she's prepared and preparing for SoCNoC. This week I'll be blogging about using May for idea try outs. If you'd like to be part of the Kiwi Writers blog please contact us. We're looking for guest bloggers to contribute to June's daily posts of inspiration, entertainment and commiseration.
If you've got any questions about the rules of SoCNoC or how to update your progress ask them in the Questions, Questions, Questions thread.
Go forth, prepare, dream and sharpen those writing implements.
