Prompts Galore

Hello Kiwi Writer!

The original novelling season is upon us! On October 15th National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) will be launching its site fresh for 2011. To get the creative juices flowing we've launched the Prompt-o-lot challenge to help you spark ideas for new stories or to develop existing ones. If you're participating in NaNoWriMo this year make sure to stop by the NaNo 2011 thread to meet other Kiwi Writers participating.

Prompt-o-lot challenges you to write 100 words or more from a prompt for 25 prompts through October. It's a creative combination of freewriting and idea generation that is bound to throw up some fantastic story surprises. Sign up for the challenges and then head over to our prompts thread for prompts and to share your own. There's also a challenge discussion thread to keep in touch with fellow participants and share your progress.

Congratulations to all the Kiwi Writers who participated in our September challenges. SpecFicNZ Blogging Week was another great success and you can still catch up on all the posts here. Make sure you check out the posts by the reader's favourite and well deserved winner of two specfic books generous donated by SpecFicNZ members, Debbie Cowens.

A huge, friendly Kiwi Writers welcome to the new the members who joined us in September: Umbrella Girl, starlitn, Enodega, zigidoll, Wheelspin, drnoblet, Janet Cyd, kiwiviktor81, Jenny Argante, TR4C1.G0LL4N and micah.timona. If you haven't already please stop by the introductions forum and tell us a bit about yourself, your writing and what you'd like to get out of Kiwi Writers.
