Welcome to 2012

Dear Kiwi Writer

With a new year comes new chances, experiences and opportunities. The celebrations for Kiwi Writers 5th Anniversary are underway and you can keep up with all the events by subscribing to the blog or visiting the homepage. To start the year we have the New Year Novella challenge and the chance to grab free books.

You still have a chance to enter our Anniversary Showcase with the deadline extended until 31st January. This gives a chance to everyone out there to have a chance at winning a spot and become published. Nothing beats the thrill of seeing your name and work in print and the feedback it will bring. Nice way to share your work with others and grab some bragging rights. We're also opening the showcase up for excerpts of already published works. More details will be posted on the blog this week so stay tuned and if you do submit an excerpt make sure to include where we can buy it.

More anniversary celebration goodness is coming in the way of a member suggested challenge competition and the Kiwi Writers Blogging Week is back! From 18th-25th Feb we want to fill the blogosphere with post and discussion about Kiwi Writers, New Zealand authors and their books. So if you are blogger, and would like to know more head over HERE to sign up.

The New Year Novella challenge began with, well, the New Year and we need more members to join in the fun, madness and joy of writing 20,000 words in 31 days. No matter if you only start on Day 5. That's still less than 1000 words a day to reach the goal and the challenge may be enough to get you writing more this month that you would have without it, whether or not you reach 20,000 words. It's a great way to get a head start on those writing resolutions and goals.

Free copies, yes I did say free copies of The Blasphemer By John Ling, an Auckland based writer and fellow Kiwi Writer. Check out his forum post for details on how to get your copy. We would also like to hear reviews of his book and I'm sure John would enjoy the feedback too.

Please welcome our newest members who found us during the busy December period: Johnling83, Wannabe Writing, Nadine, duchess, acharleston, kurosawa87, charleston, tasharp, michelleelvy.

Happy writing!

Kerryn Angell
