How Did You Go?

Well, it's all over for another year. Now that the parties have died down I'm asking you all to evaluate how you went.
For me, SoCNoC isn't about winning anymore. It's more about pushing myself and learning something new about myself as a writer.
This year I used SoCNoC to try motivate me back into writing after having my first baby in March. I'm left feeling that writing daily with children is rather impossible, and I don't know how other mums (Cassie!) do it. But I have written 9k, and that's 9k I didn't have a month ago, and I've learned that when I finally get on top of all this motherhood stuff I will be able to get writing done, albeit probably not every day.

So, how did you do and what did you learn?

Damn - and here was I thinking how wonderful it would be to have a baby so that I would have all of that spare time in which to write! Sounds like you have even more of a full time job than me!

Well done Redfox, sounds like you met your goal of getting back into writing, even if it isn't every day. I learned that even if I don't feel that inspired, I can still sit down at the PC and make inspiration happen. And I was surprised at how quickly I can write when I don't let myself get bogged down by my inner editor.

I got my writing kickstarted up again! It seemed like I was in this great big funk, then I had all this reason and purpose to get myself back on track once more, and that was the match that lit my fire!

I didn't finish the SocNoc, but I still did get over halfway, which was simply amazing in itself!
