Hi there
HI, I'm new around here.
I saw the mention for SoCNoc in the Dom and thought "I need a kick up the backside" so I signed up. I write humourous short stories, sci-fi, romance and articles. I've been threatening to write a sci-fi novel for a long time now and I'm hoping that SoCNoC will give the impetus I need to get the first draft done. My main goal as a writer is to give up the dayjob but I'm not holding my breath just yet. I've won a few competitions and been published in magazines and a couple of writer type periodicals but not enough to make a living from yet. When not writing I am developing the fine art of procrastination.

Welcome cally2 and good luck with SoCNoC. We have a lot of fun participating in it, and encouraging each other as we progress, so we look forward to regular updates on your progress.
Where in the world are you from?
Hello there! I'm also new to SoCNoC, although I did attempt to write the first draft of a novel last June...but I only got to 20k.
Did NaNoWriMo for the first time last November and I have a rewrite of a novel AND a first draft to work on in June so here's hoping I can get a lot of writing done.
Welcome cally2 and cinnamon-quill (great name, btw)! Good luck with your SoCNoC novels. It sounds like you both have paddled in these waters before. Have fun and just keep writing, just keep writing, just keep writing, writing, writing. (ala, Dory in Finding Nemo with Just Keep Swimming).

Originally from London I now live on the Kapiti Coast with my Kiwi wife and kids. Looking forward to starting in the morning
I only write because I have to.
