750 Words
A few months back one of my friends stumbled across http://750words.com The idea behind it is that every day you sit down and write for a bit to clear your head, straighten thoughts out, whatever. The 750 words is a fairly arbitrary amount (roughly 3 pages), which the creator felt was enough that you would have to start clearing out your subconscious without being unachievable. If you're struggling to write every day or just want a slightly different way of doing it, go check it out!
This sounds like an awesome idea, although I tend to aim for a 1000 a day myself! When I am not editing, I have a goal of at least 1 short story a month but this is good for journalling too.
I do this - although I'm not sure I write that much. I scribble down any old nonsense while I'm eating my breakfast. I started reading through what I'd been writing the other day, which was interesting (for me anyway...). I find it's good for clearing my head of all the thoughts that are buzzing around it first thing in the morning. And I also think it's good to start the day doing the thing I like best - it reminds me that I'm a writer first and foremost, no matter what I do to make a living!
Hey thanks for posting this, I just checked it out and it seems really cool.
A friend of mine has been singing the praises of this site for a while - I think once the workshop I'm currently doing is over I'll check it out...
This does look really cool. I've been doing the morning pages long-hand anyway and it will be interesting to see how this compares.
Looks like a great idea! Will have to check it out too.
